My Numeracy Knowledge.1

Hello. We have been doing some maths assessments. Here is my result for Stage 5 reading and counting numbers.

I got 3/7 of the learning outcomes. I need to work on counting forwards and backwards by 100s and counting backwards by 1s and 10s. Yellow is I have done it and blue is I have to work on it.

Persuasive writing

My Class is learning about Persuasive argument writing I have written an argument about The Monster in the Maze - The Minotaur.

First we read the story and the teacher said to do an argument so we started to write about the minotaur.

We were pretending to write a letter to the person who owned the monster to help save the lives of the youths he would be eating.

Dear King Minos,

I am writing to you about the fate of the nine doomed youths.  I plead for their release on the grounds that:

Firstly, it’s wrong to be killed the way your monster kills, because it would be terrifying getting ripped apart and eaten and not being able to have a long lived life, it’s not nice!

Next, would you like it if the youths from your city were taken away every year, never to be seen again?

Finally, you could feed your monster animals instead of people

So I think you understand that ripping people apart is wrong and not being able to live a long life is sad so this is why I’m writing to you to stop your monster eating kids please.

Argument about Maui.

We are learning about argument writing. We wrote an argument about Maui the great mythical hero. Here is mine.

The great Fire in London

Team Moana are leaning about Myths and Legends I did a legend on the great Fire in London. Our theme for Ohaeawai School this year is learn from a Myth Become a Legend. So I hope you like it.
We also had to be able to explain the difference between a myth and a legend.

The great Fire in London (Legend)

The story comes from a culture.	It has non-human characters like gods.	It can have some real characters like plants, humans and other animals.	It is set in a certain place.	It explains a certain phenomenon or says why things are the way they are.	The main parts of the story are:
It is in London	No	Kings , people	In London	London City on fire.	On the 9th of September 1666 the baker was asleep upstairs and then the bakers oven caught on fire. And then the smoke alarm went off and it awoke the baker and brought his family out off the bakery shop and called for the firefighter and the mayor. A few mins later they came, the fire fighter said we have to knock down the buildings or they will catch on fire to! But the mayor said no that fire isn’t that bad we’ll soon put that fire out. The fire spread and half London was on fire and lots of work had to be done.
