Siberian Husky Report

Hi fellow bloggers
Before the Ski Trip we had a task to finish a animal report. We had a vote to see if we should choose our own animal or do the same. The winning vote was choose your own animal. I chose a Siberian Husky. Please read my report. Here it is;

Hi Fellow bloggers

Silly Sentence

Kia Ora bloggers
This term the year 5 and 6's are going on a ski trip to Mount Ruapehu.  Miss Dixon has set us some tasks to do.  One of them was making a silly sentence to remember how to spell thermometer.  I enjoyed making my silly sentence because I'm using the word a lot right now and all I have to do is remember the sentence I made.  So here it is:

Pear Deck

Kia Ora bloggers

We have been using Pear Deck to help us learn more about sentence structure so that we can get better at noticing where one sentence ends and another one begins. This should also help us get better scores for punctuation. This a screenshot of an activity we did: first we had to highlight the noun and verb parts of the sentences and then we had to decide where the full stops and capital letters should go.

Here is my Pear Deck. The blue is the nouns and the green is the verbs.

Creative Writing

Kia ora bloggers

For the past few weeks we have been writing creative stories. We were allowed to chose something to write about. I wrote a story called The Hot Dog Stand. I hope you enjoy it.

The Hot Dog Stand

One afternoon a girl called Leila was going for a bike ride. As she rode down the street she began to feel hungry. As she biked along, she saw a hot dog stand. Lelia rode to the hot dog stand and parked her bike nearby then ordered a large hot dog. 2 minutes later “WHO ORDERED A LARGE HOT DOG?” came a loud yell.  “I did” Leila shyly replied. As she walked back to her bike eating her hot dog happily, she noticed something. Her bike was gone. “Oh No” she shrieked. “Ha Ha Ha” echoed a voice from behind her and as she turned around she saw…..

“Who are you?” she suspiciously asked. “I will tell you soon, just come with me”. “No!!! you stole my bike so I’m not trusting you.”  The suspicious guy grabbed a sack out of the black bag on his back, and shoved Leila into the big brown sack. 2 hours later she was thrown on some squishy material. Leila heard music and laughing. She was let out of the sack, and got a big surprise. She was in a bouncy castle at a party. Nearby she saw the person that put her in the sack. Leila ran up to the person and said “Who are you?”  “I’m your father and it’s my birthday.” “Here is your bike back, sorry!” “Happy Birthday,” said Leila. “Let’s have fun,” chanted her father. So they all had a great party and lived happily ever after.

Going to Hamilton

Tena Koutou Kato

I don't know about your holidays but mine were great. In the holidays I travelled to Hamilton with my family to visit our cousins. We stayed in a fancy hotel called Novotel, it had an all you can eat buffet. If you don't know what a buffet is, it is when you're at a hotel and chefs cook lots of food and you can eat what ever you like. At the buffet there was a self making pancake machine. My family also brought a new car so that was one of my other highlights. I had a great holiday.
